My stories blend horror, science fiction, and a little dark humor—often following characters who discover that the world is far stranger (and more dangerous) than it first appears.
I’m currently working on three novels at once: one in the query trenches, one in active edits, and one still about halfway through it's first draft. In the meantime, you can find my short fiction on Substack, where I publish stories from the worlds I’m building.
If you'd like free stories, updates on my novels, the occasional dispatch from the writing process and more articles on the art of fiction, sign up for my monthly newsletter Whistle in the Dark.

BURIED- The treaure killed her husband. Now it wants to be found again
A free folk horror short story about grief, duty, and corrosive nature of greed.
ABOUT ME
I graduated from the University of North Carolina with a double major in Film and Theater (I know, shut up) But I also had enough credits that I could technically have minored in Anthropology if they'd let me. The one thing that all of these studies have in common, is the interst in human interaction. What motivates people, inspires, scares us, what makes us laugh and cry and get up and punch the air is endless facinating to me.
My stories land somewhere between horror, science fiction, thriller, and the kind of dark comedy that tends to appear when people realize they are very much in over their heads. They usually begin with an ordinary situation and then introduce one tiny complication… you know, like the discovery that the universe is governed by rules that are easily broken and now that I think about it, are probably more like suggestions.
FYI, I love cascading catastrophes.
Along the way, my stories also tend to explore what it means to be human when the familiar structures of reality start to break down. Beneath the strange events, the characters are usually wrestling with very human questions about responsibility, identity, and connection. Sometimes these stories take an emotional turn when neither the characters nor the reader are expecting it.
My short fiction has appeared online [3115 Wicker Street] in various corners of the internet where readers gather to enjoy strange ideas, unsettling mysteries, and stories where the explanation rarely improves the situation.[Not This Third Thing] and in the dystopian scifi comedy Podcast Good Morning Antioch
I am also a regular narrator for some of the best science fiction, speculative, and horror stories around. You can listen to me here or here or here or here
I’m especially interested in stories about hidden forces, Underdogs finding their power, found family, death and what comes after, the universe being full of unknown and unknowable things, people finding unlikely connections/common ground, justice/karma/balanced scales, religion/faith/misplaced faith, real monsters both human and otherwise, and generational trauma… delicious delicious trauma.
I want to answer the big questions, like what is reality? And how easily can it be manipulated? and the biggest one of all, Why is Gamora?
I also send out a monthly newsletter with some links to free supernatural fiction, and the occasional glimpse behind the scenes of the writing process.

Her short fiction has appeared online, and she publishes a monthly newsletter about supernatural storytelling and strange ideas. She is the head writer for the dark comedy dystopian sci-fi podcast Good Morning Antioch, which is set to return soon.
